Sardines, Misua & Kalabasang Puti

                                   Here is my version of misua with white squash. I remember this viand too well becasuse this is my favorite dish to cook when I get too lazy to prepare anything. I mixed it with sardines the one that you can buy in any oriental store that is why the color is red because of the tomato sauce from sardines.

Saute onion, garlic then tomatoes

Put the sardines

Here is the white sqaush chopped in big cubes

Put the white squash put a little water then let it boil

When the squash is tender put the misua noodles and let it simmer seasoned it with salt and pepper

Wild Blue Flower

We have many of this in our yard this time of the year. I like it because the hues of blue is very pretty almost to a lavender in color. This flower is so tiny and is close to ground that I have to lean almost laying on the ground to take the shot.

My Biko or Sweet Sticky Rice

Finally I was able to finished my biko and here it is. First naglalatik pa siya. With this I put two lite coconut milk and I think two cups of brown sugar (tinatantiya ko lang yong measurement). And then I let it settle down till talagang latik na latik siya. I cooked 3 cups of glutenous rice.

After, the biko was done hubby and I tasted it immediately and I found out it is very very sweet. But hubby told me it is perfect!! What a husband hehe. But this morning I transfered the biko from the kalan to the pyrex I tasted it again and it was not too sweet anymore good for the morning coffee.I remember in my hometown that in valentines day a woman should cooked something that is sticky like biko, suman or anything that stick together because the old folks said the marriage will last longer hehe. Just like when we celebrate our birthday we should have a pancit or sotanghon or behon (chinese noodles) and never cut it the celebrant will live longer. Well it is only a "kasabihan" our relationship with our husband doesn't base on anything sticky or long hahaha but it is how we communicate, respect, appreciate and love each other. Note: This is a repost from my other food blog that goes hay wire.

Retro

This was taken at Huckleberry Village. This village was preserved by the county and all the buildings in this village were owned from anyone. While roaming around the place we saw this mail carrier a woman who is walking with a donkey. I asked hubby if this is what happened before and he said most likely. I think her dress can be considered Retro?

Banana/Strawberry Shake

This morning I prepare our breakfast. When I was done doing my  thing in the kitchen I called hubby and he was amazed how little the food was on the table hahahahaha, I told him this is only around 300 calories maybe and if we want to lose weight naturally we have to do this, lol! But then I told him do not worry  I am going to cook lunch too with just less than another 300 calories hehehe.  Here is my first breakfast that I think it is healthy.

                                                                     The ingredients

                                                                 The Breakfast

                                                   Banana/Strawberry shake

Procedure/Ingredients

*Berry/ Banana shake
*1 muffin cut in half
* 1 tbsp cream cheese
* 1 cup coffee or tea ( hubby drink it already)
* Banana (frozen or fresh)

Strawberry/ Banana smoothie

* 1/4 cup fresh or frozen strawberry ( or any berries you have)

sliced fresh strawberries (optional) for garnishing

     In a blender container combine the frozen banana pieces, desired berries, juice, and yogurt. Cover and blend till smooth. To serve, pour into tall glasses. Peaches

These are the last batch of peaches harvested from our peach trees. Few years ago I planted three of peach trees. Fortunately they all are sweet and big that I decided to eat it fresh than make it into jam or jellies. It is very fulfilling to eat the fruit of our labor.
