From The Ground

Took this in the Philippines. I was walking around when I saw this old man climbing the coconut tree. This is my interpretation for this week theme. He had to start from the ground going up. And you know what he is going to get on top of the coconut tree? He is going to harvest the  coconut wine which then  stored by a bamboo container.

From the ground he had to go up using the hacked side on the coconut tree.

Fromt the ground I took this shot. And there it is the bamboo container that is being use to store the coconut wine. The old man had to harvest it every morning so it is fresh and ready to sell.

  1. In Malaysia the juice is cooked and make into sugar block, called gula Melaka. Usually used in making traditional desserts. Love your interpretation of the theme, this week.

  4. Good shots for the topic, Kim. I wonder if it's the coconut wine that keeps that man in such good shape, I imagine you'd have to be very fit to climb those trees like that.
